CiteWise processes account information, workspace usage, raw references, resolved citation metadata, and service diagnostics to provide citation verification and account management.
Data we process
Authentication is handled by Clerk. Subscription events are handled by Creem. CiteWise stores internal user and workspace identifiers, citation history, usage totals, and API key metadata. API key plaintext is shown once and is not stored.
How data is used
Data is used to authenticate access, run requested citation workflows, enforce allowances, maintain history, support billing, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.
Third-party scholarly sources
Reference-derived search terms may be sent to configured scholarly metadata providers such as Crossref, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, PubMed, and arXiv.
